Greek recipe for Meatballs with spaghetti

Recipe: Meatballs with spaghetti

Combines well with Dafnios red dry wine

Ingredients for the sauce:

1 small  onion, finely chopped
1  garlic
1 grated carrot
3/4  cup olive oil
Salt, pepper
4 cups chopped tomatoes

Ingredients for the meatballs:

300 gr. ground beef
1 egg
1 cup grated  cheese
salt - pepper
2 spoons of olive oil

500 gr. spaghetti


1. Saute onion, garlic and grated carrot in a large saucepan for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, salted and simmer it for about 35 minutes to tie.
2. Mix in a bowl the mince with the remaining ingredients and shape the meatballs. Optionally you can coat them with breadcrumbs.
3. Fry in hot oil , until golden brown and remove them  in paper towels to drain well.
4. Cook the pasta al dente, toss with the sauce and place over the meatballs.
