Since ancient times an important part of the Greek economy was the trade of agricultural products. The greek wine had a leading role in exports to the Mediterranean as well as the Black Sea. 

In Greece are many wine regions such as the Peloponnese, Crete, Evea, Macedonia, Thessaly and Thrace. Also the  islands of the Aegean and Ionian sea and  the Dodecanese.
