Crete has a rich wine tradition and history. One of the oldest wine presses in the world was discovered is Archanes Crete and dates  back to Minoan times.

Nowadays, Crete  produces about 20% of Greek wine.

There is a new generation of wine producers, enologists, vinters, cultivators  etc. trying to improve the image of Cretan wine in all  aspects with knowledge, vision and willingness.
