Malvazia natural sweet wine

A highly prized wine named Malvasia in Italian, Malvoisie in French, Malmsey in English and Malvasier in German, was produced in Crete in the 14th to 16th centuries. This early Malmsey wine was carried to Constantinople,Italy, France and northern Europe by the Venetians and other Italian merchants.

That the name is derived from the district of Malevizi, near the city of Heraclion (known to the Venetians as Candia) on Crete.

A common clone of Malvasia variety is known as Malvasia Bianca di Candia, from its reputed origin in that area.           
Çarvest: 2007

Variety: Malvazia di Candia aromatica.

Vinification: After the harvest, we dry the mature grapes in the sun for 5-6 days.
Then we carry the grapes to the winery where follows the classic white fermentation.

Tasting notes: Light orange color.  Spicy nose, with fruity notes .Rich flavor, velvet and sweet.

Serve: It is served cold  8-10 oC , and  accompanies  sweets and fruits.
